Victor Letsoalo’s exploits for Royal AM in the DStv Premiership last season, where he scored 15 goals in all competitions, made him an outstanding property.

A few months before the end of the season, Letsoalo was already linked to a move to the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
But neither happened. Instead Letsoalo has joined the less glitzy Sekhukhune United where he says he is happy. And I’m looking forward to making a significant contribution.
But with the widely publicized move to Chiefs – where manager Arthur Zwane had publicly stated his desire to have him on his team – failed, Letsoalo explained what happened.
“It’s not that I didn’t want to join Chiefs or Pirates,” Letsoalo said quoted by SABC Sport recently. “I came here (to Sekhukhune) because this is the only opportunity that has presented itself.
“I think the whole Chiefs interest has gotten a bit political, maybe that’s why I didn’t go to Chiefs and ended up here in Sekhukhune. And I am satisfied with it.
“I saw this as a great opportunity when Sekhukhune came to call. I chose them because I am from Limpopo and have played for Baroka in the past.
“So, this club comes from my home and that’s what motivated me to sign for them,” added the 29-year-old Bafana Bafana forward.
Royal AM was registered and said they never received any offers from Chiefs except Sekhukhune.
Amakhosi fans were unhappy with Royal AM, which they accused of refusing to sell Letsoalo to their team.
But Royal AM chief Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize also revealed how Letsoalo dealt with her for the reported move.
“When I got back (from vacation) I saw that he wasn’t the Victor I know. I sat him down. He said, ‘Mom (mom) please, I just want to go …’ And he asked me, he literally confronted me, ‘Why don’t you want me to go to Chiefs?
“And I said, ‘My boy, I didn’t get anything from Chiefs.’ I said, ‘If you can bring me a proposal from Chiefs, I’ll gladly accept it.
“But I have nothing”. I told him I wouldn’t keep it if her heart wasn’t there anymore, ”MaMkhize recently told Marawa Sports Worldwide.
