d2r films: Netflix signs multi-year deal with Raj & DK for all future D2R Films projects

Netflix has signed a multi-year, multi-project deal with filmmaking duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, commonly known as Raj & DK, for all of their new projects, including movies and web series, under their D2R Films banner.

Known for the critically acclaimed series The Family Man on rival platform Amazon Prime Video, Raj & DK are already the showrunners and directors of upcoming Netflix comedy crime series Guns & Gulaabs, a tale of love and innocence rolled into one World of Crime, a nostalgic tale of all kinds of firsts, from first love to first murder.

The duo also produced last year’s Telugu hit “Cinema Bandi,” which is currently streaming on Netflix.

“Raj & DK are one of the most original creative voices in the country. In addition to their unique and ingenious storytelling style, they are also a powerhouse studio. We are excited to continue our relationship with them for a multi-year creative partnership that will bring superlative entertainment to Netflix members around the world,” said Monika Shergill, VP Content, Netflix India.

With the deal closing, all of the new projects the duo has developed and created will be available on Netflix, but it won’t include projects that have already been announced with other streamers, including Shahid Kapoor star “Farzi” streaming in becomes Prime Video and consecutive seasons of existing series.

Last year, Netflix entered into a similar partnership with Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar
