NEW YORK — New York City’s biggest neighborhood party is back on Saturday and it’s better than ever!
Summer Streets, the annual car-free festival, is held every August. This year, New Yorkers can take advantage of over eight miles of open roads.
The route begins at Chambers and Center Street in downtown, then continues on Park Avenue to 109th Street in East Harlem.
Along the way there will be refreshment stops, with shows and activities that encourage fitness and all kinds of fun. There is also a special Citi Bike promotion.
On Friday, NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez spoke to CBS News New York about the event.
