Peso, PSEi down as week starts

THE peso and the stock market both fell on Monday, the former returning to the P56:$1 level and the latter closing just a few points shy of dropping back to 6,700 territory.

The currency weakened by nine centavos to P56.0005 against the dollar, while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) tumbled by 42.34 points, or 0.62 percent, to 6,807.82.
