Independent MP Allegra Spender says the Australian community is incredibly traumatised by the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Ms Spender described the Middle East conflict as “tragic” as more than 200 Israeli civilians are still held captive by the Hamas militant group.
“We don’t know where they are, over 200 of them, we don’t know if they are still alive, we don’t know if we will ever see them again,” Ms Spender told Sky News Australia.
“We also have thousands and thousands of Gazans dying as well.
“It really comes back to how can you deal with Hamas, how can you protect Israel from future Hamas attacks when they said they will keep on going.”
