Education Minister says kids ‘should be at school’ instead of attending climate protests

Education Minister Jason Clare says children “should be at school” instead of participating in climate protests.

“My view is, I hope pretty uncontroversial, that school students should be at school during school hours,” he said during Question Time on Wednesday.

“I want our kids to be passionate, I want our kids to care about democracy and I want our kids to care about our future.

“But I also want our kids at school.”

His response follows after Greens MP Stephen Bates targeted his question at the Education Minister during Question Time, mentioning the upcoming School Strike 4 Climate which is set to happen across the nation.
